Avril Lavigne, Josh Hartnett, among the stars in Dublin
12 July 2007

Dublin was the place to be this week, as musicians, actors and models came to the Irish capital in droves.

Sk8ter Girl Avril Lavigne came to town after performing a headlining set at the Oxegen music festival. The punk princess received an ecstatic response from thousands of fans at the annual Heineken sponsored event as she belted out her best known numbers.

Meanwhile Hollywood duo Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins took some time off from making films to stroll around the city that was this year voted the friendliest in the world.

No strangers to Dublin, Susan and Tim were right at home in the Irish capital, famed for its many prominent literary figures, such as James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, Jonathan Swift and William Butler Yeats.

Actor Josh Hartnett also stopped by with his supermodel girlfriend Helena Christensen for a spot of relaxation.

The couple was spotted enjoying a meal of burger and chips, before being seen heading over to Temple Bar, the city's most trendy nightlife location. Ms Christensen was sporting a 'claddagh', a traditional Irish friendship ring.
