Ben Kingsley wins big at Ischia Arts Festival

British thespian Sir Ben Kingsley was in the small Italian island of Ischia this week to collect another award to add to his burgeoning collection.

The actor celebrated by playing on the drums in an impromptu music session after receiving a lifetime achievement award at the Ischia Global Film and Music Festival.

Sir Ben, who won an Oscar for his role in Ghandi and picked up nominations for turns in Sexy Beast and The House of Sand and Fog, was joined by other notables such as 300 leading man Gerard Butler, singer Sheryl Crow and Italian pop star Laura Pausini in picking up awards.

The festival, in its fifth year, was based at the Regina Isabella hotel in the town of Lacco Ameno and was chaired by Crash director, Paul Haggis.
