Amy Winehouse livens up the Eden Project
18 July 2007

Immediately after receiving a nomination for a prestigious Mercury Prize, jazz singer Amy Winehoue jumped on a train and travelled down to Cornwall, on the English coast.

The controversial singer was one of the star performers in a series of concerts being held in the leafy surroundings of the Eden Project.

The large scale environmental complex contains a number of horticultural wonders, each housed in a separate biome that maintains specific climate conditions.

The Humid Tropic Biome is the world's largest greenhouse and recreates the sights, sounds and smells of a tropical rainforest. The Warm Temperature Dome meanwhile perfectly mimics the sunny climes of California, replete with orange and lemon trees.

Ms Winehouse was joined for the Eden Sessions by other performers including Lily Allen, the Pet Shop Boys, James Morrison and Rufus Wainwright.

Cornwall is something of a celebrity travel hotspot. Pierce Brosnan, Claudia Schiffer, Kate Winslett and Princes William and Harry regularly holiday on the beaches of Newqay.
