Cyprus heats up this summer with music and theatre

A number of operas, plays and music concerts will be performed across Cyprus through late July and August.
Starting with the Festival of Ancient Greek Drama, now in its eleventh year, plays including Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides, Ajax by Sophocles and Peace by Aristophanes will be performed in venues across the country's major cities from Europe's top companies until 7 August.
Meanwhile, Summer Medfest is Cyprus' largest international music festival. Staged in in Nicosia at the end of the month, the urban festival will boast headlining acts from giant performers such as 50 Cent, Akon, Julian Marley, Memphis Bleek and Alesha.
From 31 August to 2 September, those visiting the island towards the end of summer will be bale to attend the Pafos Aphrodite Festival, an operatic celebration staged in a medieval castle at Paphos.
