It's a 'White Night' in Rome
08 August 2007

After three successful years, the Eternal City of Rome, Italy, will once host its fourth 'Notte Bianca', a festive display of visual, musical, dance and theatrical arts, food and wine tastings and various children's events that run throughout the night.

Free to attend for all, the White Night takes place on 8 September and begins at 8pm lasting until 8am the next morning.

Shops and restaurants will stay open all night as the city celebrates its multiculturalism and solidarity. All the major museums, theatres and cultural institutions take place in the event, as do sports facilities, metro and train stations.

Indeed, more than 100 events will take place during the 12 hour period, staged at 22 cinemas, 28 theatres, 24 museums and 51 galleries, among other places.

Public transport will be free after 10pm with buses and the metro system running throughout the night. Funds are raised at every event to be donated to various charitable causes dealing with the homeless.
