Eastern Airways flying to Norway
14 August 2007

UK regional airline Eastern Airways is set to introduce its first international scheduled service which will fly between Scotland's Aberdeen airport and Stavanger in Norway.

The carrier, which flies more services to and from Aberdeen than any other airline with ten different routes will fly between the destinations twice a week with services timed for business and leisure travellers. The 70 minute flight between the two destinations will be operated using a 50-seater Saab 200 aircraft.

Graeme Ross, Scotland director of Eastern Airways, said: 'As we already provide a comprehensive network of services to and from Aberdeen to meet the needs of businesses, including the UK energy sector, Stavanger being the centre of Norwegian oil and gas activities was the obvious choice for our expansion into Europe.

'There are also connections available for those arriving into Aberdeen from Stavanger to many of our onward UK destinations,' he said.

The new route is good news for Aberdeen Airport, which has recently seen six routes to various destinations cancelled.
