Daniel Craig watches the races in Italy
17 August 2007
Secret agent man Daniel Craig took a day out from shooting a frantic roof-top action scene in the picturesque Italian town of Sienna for the new Bond film to spend some quality time with his girlfriend Stasuki Mitchell.
The 007 star and his film producer girlfriend watched the bi-annual Palio, a bareback horse race that brings in visitors from all over Tuscany, from the comfort of a romantic balcony, while film crews captured the horses and racers up-close for Bond 21.
Since getting together 18 months ago, the blue-eyed heart throb and his sophisticated lady have been inseparable, often appearing side by side at film premieres and on the set of his films.
They will have appreciated the chance for some time away from filming to enjoy the Tuscan sun. The region is one of the most romantic in Italy, incredibly popular with tourists and is considered the birthplace of the Renaissance.
All around its towns and cities, there is evidence of the most breathtaking architecture and artistry. It was also the birth place of Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Dante, some of the greatest figures in Italian history and culture.
