Hilton Auckland's White restaurant named one of 'best in world'

Hilton Auckland's award winning restaurant, White, has been named by Hotels magazine as one of the Top Ten Hotel Restaurants in the World for 2007.
The restaurant, which is widely regarded as one of the best in New Zealand, was ranked alongside Thiptara at the Peninsula in Bangkok and Refuel at the Soho Hotel in London.
'To be recognised alongside some of the world's great hotel restaurants is a great achievement, a milestone to be truly proud of,' explained John Ingram, general manager of the prestigious hotel.
Bernard Bernabe, executive chef, was also ecstatic over the award: 'It's an honour to receive such an accolade. Since opening, White has been at the forefront of dining in New Zealand, and this award conforms my long-held belief that White is amongst the best.'
Last year, Hotels voted Giovanni Angelini, chief executive of the Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotel and Resort, the Corporate Hotelier of the World. Herve Houdre, of the Willard Continental in Washington DC picked up the Independent Hotelier of the World award.
