Monarch seats for summer 2008 on sale
03 September 2007

Monarch Airlines has launched its summer 2008 flight schedules from Gatwick, Luton and Birmingham, with an increased service from Luton to Larnaca among the highlights.

This route will now be served by six flights per week, a change that Monarch says was prompted by 'huge demand' for the offering since its launch in March this year.

Services to Spain are among the most prevalent in the carrier's new schedule from Gatwick, with Alicante served by 13 flights per week, up to five flights per week going to Ibiza and up to 17 flights per week departing for Malaga.

Other regions on the Iberian peninsula are also well covered, with six flights per week leaving from Luton for Faro, Portugal and daily flights departing the London base for Gibraltar.

Birmingham will offer eight flights per week to Palma de Mallorca, while the service to Tenerife will take off four times every seven days.

Its schedule for 2008 is not the only recent announcement made by Monarch, as the carrier has also published its punctuality performance, revealing that 80 per cent of its scheduled flights departed on time in the week between 27 August and 2 September.

Some 96 per cent of the airline's flights in this period left within an hour of their scheduled departure time.
