Brits targeted by Toronto tourism campaign
10 September 2007

A campaign is being launched with the aim of attracting British people to Toronto this year.

Tourism Toronto, the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership and Air Canada are among the companies involved in the autumn promotion.

This is the fourth year that the initiative has been launched in the UK and it is expected to highlight the features the city has to offer, including the ease of travel between Britain and Canada and the range of entertainment and cultural options.

Toronto is also close to Niagara Falls and a wine-growing region. The city's most prominent and best-known landmark is the CN Tower which, at 553 metres in height, is the tallest freestanding structure in the world.

To publicise such features, the advertising campaign will include a three-week radio promotion on London's Magic FM.

There will also be billboards presenting the attractions of Toronto in mainline train stations around the English capital.
