Heathrow Express to continue serving T5
12 September 2007
Heathrow Express has announced that its trains will provide transport to terminal five when the new hub opens in March 2008.
The service will depart from Paddington station four times an hour for a 15-minute journey to Heathrow, with a short stop at terminals one, two and three before arriving at the new terminal eight minutes later.
Terminal four passengers can change at any of the first three hubs and board the free inter-terminal transfer service.
Brian Raven, managing director of Heathrow Express, described the news as a 'major step forward' in the company's support of the launch of terminal five.
'We want to ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our passengers as Heathrow airport becomes Europe's leading gateway,' he added.
'By implementing these changes we can ensure that passengers continue to find their journey to and from the airport fast, frequent, comfortable and relaxing.'
Heathrow Express carries an average of 16,000 passengers a day a total of 30m since its launch in 1998 and claims to be the quickest and easiest way to reach the world's busiest international airport.
