Orlando hoping for more UK tourists
13 September 2007

Tourism groups in Orlando, Florida are hoping to attract more British visitors to the destination with a massive advertising campaign.

In what the Orlando Tourism Bureau claims is the city's biggest promotional push in the UK, adverts for the region will be aired in the autumn for the first time, Travelmole reports.

The initiative will begin this weekend with two million inserts in newspapers and a further two million due to appear in January 2008.

A broadcast element will also be included in the campaign, with commercials beginning next week on a number of high-profile channels.

Gary Sain, president and CEO of the Orlando Tourism Bureau, said: "UK consumers told us they long to escape the demands of everyday life while on holiday and that they look for destinations that provide a wide variety of activities for everyone to enjoy, leaving them rested and rejuvenated when they return home.

"The campaign is designed to evoke interest in exploring Orlando and discovering the unparalleled options holidaymakers can't find anywhere else in the world."
