BA to increase US flights next year
19 September 2007

British Airways has announced that it will operate a more comprehensive route network to the US from Heathrow in summer 2008.

The airline is making the change in order to take advantage of the new EU-US Open Skies policy, due to come into effect in March 2008.

Flights currently departing once a day to Dallas Fort Worth and twice daily to Houston from Gatwick will leave from Heathrow next summer and flight frequency to New York JFK, Seattle and Washington will be increased.

In another alteration, flights from Gatwick to Algiers will depart from Heathrow. All changes will take effect from 30 March.

Robert Boyle, commercial director of the airline, said: 'We're taking advantage of the opportunities provided by Open Skies to further enhance our market leading network from London to the United States.

'Next summer, we will offer our customers 41 daily flights to 18 destinations across the US.'

BA will also be introducing a new route from 4 April next year from Gatwick to the Italian city of Genoa.
