Air France KLM to raise capacity
20 September 2007

The Air France KLM group has announced that overall seat capacity will increase by 5.2% in the 2007-08 winter season compared to the same period last year.

A 6.2% boost will be given to the long-haul network while short and medium-haul flights will have their capacity increased by 1.8%.

The group said that KLM will focus on increasing long-haul carrying potential to the Gulf and on transatlantic routes, while Air France will pursue growth in Latin America, Africa and Asia.

London City airport will see a particular benefit from the developments, with Air France strengthening its position at the hub and offering more flights to north Africa.

Both airlines will continue to exploit the complementary nature of their combined networks in order to provide customers with 'the most attractive offering'.

The winter season will see KLM welcome its first Boeing 777-300R in February next year, which will operate flights to Sao Paulo and Dubai.
