Eastern to serve Manchester-Stansted route
20 September 2007

Eastern Airways has announced that it will be taking over the route between Manchester airport and London Stansted currently served by Air Berlin.

The British carrier operated the connection for three years from 2003 before Air Berlin took over and will now be resuming the service from 29 October.

It will operate three flights every weekday, including one departure at 07:15 for commuters heading to London for the working day.

Chris Holliday, Eastern Airways chief operating officer, said the continuation of this link between the north-west and the capital is 'great news for travellers'.

Aidan Mooney, head of air service development at Manchester airport, commented: 'Connecting the north-west to the rest of Britain and the world is why Manchester airport is so important to the region's development and this route is an important element in our network.'

Eastern Airways also flies from Manchester to Inverness twice every weekday.
