London 'UK's best city'

London has been named the 'best UK city' at the Group Leisure Industry Awards.
Group travel organisers from a range of organisations, including sports and social clubs, community associations and schools, named London as the overall winner at a ceremony in Birmingham on 20 September.
James Bidwell, chief executive of Visit London, said his organisation was "delighted" that the English capital had been named the best UK city.
He added: 'London is an ever-changing destination and there are always new attractions, theatre shows, exhibitions and events to keep group visitors entertained.'
Rob Yandell, managing editor of Group Leisure, commented: '[London] continues to innovate with new tours and attractions, as well as providing all the classics you would expect. There's no doubt London fully deserves the title of best UK city 2007.'
Since 1997, when the awards began, London has won the best UK city accolade six times.
