Heathrow Connect, the rail service connecting central London with Heathrow airport, will offer a direct link to terminal four from March next year, it has announced.

The half-hourly service will begin to offer the direct connection around the same time that Heathrow's new terminal five opens.

It is currently possible to reach terminal four by taking the Heathrow Express service and changing at any of the first three passenger facilities.

Brian Raven, managing director of Heathrow Connect, said that the service has gone 'from strength to strength' since its launch in 2005.

'Its popularity is beyond doubt as passenger numbers have far exceeded initial expectations,' he added.

'As the direct terminal four rail service from March 2008, Heathrow Connect ensures high quality, effective transport links for air passengers travelling between Heathrow airport and central London.'

Heathrow Connect departs from Paddington station and stops at Ealing Broadway, West Ealing, Hanwell and other stations on its way to the airport.
