Brazilian govt 'supporting tourism'
03 October 2007
The future of tourism in Brazil looks set to be healthy as the government continues to invest in the market, an expert has claimed.
According to Rhiannon Williamson, director of investment research and advice group Amberlamb, the Brazilian government has an appreciation of the positive economic effects that high levels of tourism can have.
"The Brazilian government is wholly supportive of foreign investment and to the promotion of tourism interest," she said.
"They understand that both are required for the benefit of their economy's stability."
Ms Williamson went on to explain that the main area of tourism in Brazil is Rio Grande do Norte, the region that has been receiving the most infrastructure investment.
"The region, its capital city of Natal and its stunning beaches are already easily and affordably accessible from Europe and the UK with flight times averaging about eight hours and costing as little as £200 return from London Gatwick," she said.
