London 'top city for transport'
04 October 2007
London is the world's leading city for the provision of public transport, according to a new survey.
For the second year in a row the international respondents to a poll by holiday review site TripAdvisor voted London's transport system the most efficient and also the safest.
The Underground system was named the best subway or Metro network while the English capital's famous black cabs were deemed to be the best taxis.
There was one negative outcome of the survey however, as London transport is considered the most expensive in the world, followed by the New York system.
Michelle Perry, TripAdvisor communications director, said: 'It's proof that even when it comes to riding a bus or a subway, you get what you pay for.'
The capital of England has the fourth cleanest transport network, according to the study, behind Washington DC, Tokyo and Paris.
