08 October 2007
London City airport and its partners are to hold an exposition this week publicising the winter holiday options on offer.
The showcase will take place in London's Broadgate area and involve British Airways, Swiss International Air Lines and CityJet for Air France.
A Swiss snowboarding demonstration will be held, involving an artificial ski slope and grinding rails, a ski simulator will be set up for the entertainment of passers-by and British Airways will hold an 'apres-ski' event with live jazz.
The event is expected to attract a fair amount of interest, with over 35,000 people working in the Broadgate area and another 150,000 in close proximity.
London City airport, which can be reached in 22 minutes from Canary Wharf, is the only air hub situated close to the centre of the capital.
It offers flights to over 30 European destinations with 12 airlines.
