Lufthansa recognised for business class
10 October 2007
Lufthansa has been voted Europe's leading business class airline in the 2007 World Travel Awards.
Some 167,000 travel professionals vote for the awards, which were once described the Wall Street Journal as the industry's equivalent of the Oscars.
Marianne Sammann, Lufthansa's general manager for the UK and Ireland, said that the accolade was testament to the success of the airline's recent investment in its business class services.
'This award proves that Lufthansa's investment in our new business class product on European routes has been successful in meeting the needs of the business traveller', she said.
'The World Travel Awards are highly regarded and coveted as they are unique, with the votes cast globally by travel professionals across the globe.'
Work on enhancing the business class options available on Lufthansa flights was completed last autumn.
Among the innovations was a new design of the carrier's ergonomic leather seats which reportedly offers more leg room and improved comfort.
