Flybe caters for World Cup final demand
17 October 2007
Flybe has announced that more seats have been made available on its flights to Paris this weekend to meet massive demand for transport to the Rugby World Cup final.
England's unexpected success in the semi-final of the tournament has sparked a rush among rugby fans to travel to Paris to see their side take on South Africa on Sunday.
To cater for this extra demand the regional airline made almost 1,000 seats available on flights to Charles de Gaulle airport.
Capacity will be increased from Flybe's regional bases including Birmingham, Southampton, Manchester and Cardiff.
Mike Rutter, the carrier's chief commercial officer, said: 'Flybe is showing its support of the English rugby champions by pulling out all the stops to increase services to Paris Charles de Gaulle, giving thousands of rugby fans the chance to be there when the team retains the coveted title.'
The Rugby World Cup final will kick off at the Stade de France on Sunday evening at 21:00 local time.
