23 October 2007
There will be a 6.7% increase in the number of intercontinental flights available from Frankfurt airport when the hub's winter schedule comes into effect this month.
With 920 departures a week, intercontinental services will see the biggest increase in frequency from Frankfurt this winter.
The seasonal timetable, set to come into effect on 28 October, will feature 4,220 passenger flights per week.
Among them is a new Lufthansa service to Orlando, Florida, which will operate six times a week, and a thrice-weekly connection to Karachi and Lahore in Pakistan.
Germany's flag-carrying airline will also launch its longest ever non-stop flight this year, from Frankfurt to Buenos Aires in Argentina, covering 11,500km in 13.5 hours.
