Delta launches new Hawaii flights
23 October 2007
Delta Air Lines has announced that it will begin new flights from Los Angeles to the Hawaiian islands from 5 June next year.
The new services will head to Lihue on the island of Kauai and Kona on the 'big island' of Hawaii.
These new flights will strengthen the position of Los Angeles as Delta's main gateway to Hawaii, with five daily round-trip services from southern California to four destinations in the island group.
Glen Hauenstein of Delta's network planning department said: 'The addition of flights to Lihue and Kona marks another step in Delta's efforts to establish the world's broadest network of destinations for our customers.
'These newest destinations will allow customers to explore the beaches of the Coconut Coast while enjoying the beauty of the Garden Island or snorkelling off the sandy shores of the Kohala coast, all with convenient flight connections through our growing Los Angeles gateway.'
Delta also flies from Hawaii to North American destinations Atlanta and Salt Lake City.
