Heathrow Express 'takes 1m cars off the road'
07 November 2007
Heathrow Express, the provider of a non-stop rail service between London Paddington and Heathrow airport, has claimed that it is responsible for removing 1m cars from the road every year.
To mark National Stress Awareness Day, the company announced that it is offering a benefit both to the environment and travellers' well-being by offering an alternative to road travel to the airport.
Heathrow Express claimed that driving to the airport can cause tension among travellers as it carries the risk of hitting traffic and potentially missing a flight.
Brian Raven, managing director of Heathrow Express, said that the rail service gets passengers to the airport 'in comfort and on time'.
'We all know that jams cause us stress and are harmful to the environment. A million average family cars would see a tailback from London to Paris and that's one big traffic jam,' Mr Raven commented.
'Heathrow Express offers a quicker, more reliable and less stressful way of travelling and by removing one million cars from the road it has a tangible impact, both on the environment and the well being of our customers.'
