Experience the Christmas magic of Toronto
09 November 2007

Holidaying in Toronto is "without parallel in Canada", according to one expert on the city.

David Whitaker, president and chief executive of Tourism Toronto says that Christmas in the city is "magical" and recommended for all types of travellers.

Attractions for visitors this winter include shopping in Old Town Toronto and St Lawrence Market and the traditional Santa Clause parade on November 19th.

"The holiday experience in Toronto is without parallel in Canada," Mr Whitaker said.

"With the glowing illuminations of holiday lights outside to go with fine shopping, dining and theatre inside, the Toronto holiday experience appeals to all types of travellers looking for seasonal magic."

Toronto also houses the second tallest freestanding building in the world – the CN Tower – which reaches a height of 553.3 metres.

The city also plays host to six opera houses, the National Ballet of Canada and two symphony orchestras while children can enjoy Toronto Zoo and the Ontario Science Centre.
