Eastern opens link between Southampton, France

Eastern Airways has today launched its first scheduled services to France, with a flight leaving Southampton airport on the morning of 15 November for Angers Loire.
The carrier will operate the route on a three-flights-a-week basis, with services scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Eastern Airways expects the connection to be popular with both holidaymakers who may own property in the Loire Valley and corporate passengers with business interests in the region.
Chris Holliday, the company's chief operating officer, said that today was a 'historic day for Eastern Airways'.
'We introduced our first international route in 2005 from Southampton to Brussels and today marks the launch of our first French connection, also from the south coast of England,' he added.
'Angers is in the heart of the Loire Valley and this service will not only appeal to holidaymakers, but also those travelling on business as the region is renowned for its wine production, truck manufacturing, liqueur, tourism and technology industries.'
Eastern Airways services are also available from Southampton to Newcastle, Aberdeen, Leeds Bradford and Inverness.
