Newlyweds 'enjoy luxury in the Far East'
23 November 2007
The Far East is a popular region for honeymooners as it offers the opportunity to indulge in some luxury without overstretching one's budget, it has been claimed.
According to a spokesperson for Hitched.co.uk, a company that offers a free service to assist people with every aspect of their wedding, some of the five-star hotels in the Far East are 'out of this world'.
Such luxury need not take precedence over affordability, according to Francesca Moore, as budgets can go a long way in many parts of the Far East.
Commenting on the various options open to honeymooners, Ms Moore added: 'Dubai is a good destination as a stopover for honeymooners on their way to the Far East.
'Another option is twin-centre honeymoons, so people have a city break for a few days, maybe in Dubai or Singapore, and then go onto the big destination for a beach holiday.'
However it is not necessary for British couples to go too far afield for an enjoyable honeymoon, the Hitched.co.uk spokesperson said, as there are many romantic destinations on the continent.
'In Europe, some of the most romantic places are Florence, or Venice because of the canals,' Ms Moore said. 'Mediterranean honeymoons are very popular because they're not so far to travel.'
