AA takes first class domestic award
03 December 2007
American Airlines (AA) has won the Global Traveller award for the United States' best airline for domestic first class travel.
More than 15,800 readers of the magazine participated in the survey and voted AA the best domestic first class carrier for the second consecutive year.
Lauri Curtis, AA's vice-president for onboard service, said the carrier was 'honoured' to receive the accolade.
She added: 'This recognition is a reflection of our commitment to provide our passengers with a positive travel experience.'
Global Traveller magazine also holds an international business class airline wine competition, which saw AA receive two accolades recently, including one in the international category.
Francis Gallagher, the magazine's chief executive and publisher, said: 'American Airlines' first class service is a favourite for domestic business travellers, this combined with American's win in Global Traveller's wine survey shows the attention to detail that American places on its international business class as well.'
AA claims to be the world's largest airline, serving 250 cities in over 40 countries with more than 4,000 daily flights.
