Bmi to serve Tel Aviv from Heathrow

British airline bmi will serve the Israeli city of Tel Aviv from Heathrow next year, it has announced.
The carrier will commence a daily non-stop service on 13 March, offering 20 seats in business class and 108 seats in economy.
Passengers on the service will be offered coordinated connections to a number of regional airports across the UK, according to bmi, including Manchester, Leeds Bradford, Belfast and Durham Tees Valley.
The airline has been able to enter the Heathrow-Tel Aviv market following the successful conclusion of bilateral talks between the British and Israeli governments.
Nigel Turner, bmi chief executive, said: 'We have every confidence that our presence on this new route will stimulate its competitiveness.
'We are committed to delivering a superior product, both on the ground and in the air as well as offering a range of highly competitive fares that will appeal to a wide range of markets.'
