US Airways 'targeting optimum performance' this Xmas
11 December 2007
US Airways has said that this Christmas it will strive to emulate the 'outstanding' performance it managed over America's busy Thanksgiving period.
A number of factors have reportedly been taken into account ahead of the festive rush, including potentially difficult weather and congestion.
'The holiday season is 'the big game' for US Airways, and we are taking steps to ensure our team is primed for high load factors, busy airports and winter weather,' said Kerry Hester, vice-president of customer service planning.
'We want to build on our stellar Thanksgiving performance by supporting our employees and our operation to deliver the level of reliability and service our customers expect and deserve.'
The carrier gave a number of tips to travellers to help ensure a smooth journey, underlining the importance of checking in early and monitoring flight status.
US Airways also advised packing carefully, with fees, restrictions and excess baggage rules in mind.
