Air New Zealand to introduce on-board concierges

Air New Zealand is to introduce an on-board concierge service designed to meet the needs of its long-haul passengers.
In what is thought to be a world-first, 90 concierge staff will be employed to answer customers' queries during their flight and provide help with onward bookings.
The representatives could also help improve visitors' holidays by offering tips on 'must-do' activities.
Most of the positions, which will be advertised this month, will be New Zealand-based, but some staff will operate from the airline's hubs in Shanghai and London.
The carrier's international manager, Ed Sims, told the New Zealand Herald that the initiative is part of a plan to deliver a 'uniquely Kiwi experience' to customers.
Tourism minister Damien O'Connor said: 'I applaud this new move. Air New Zealand will lead the world in in-flight service and enhance the value of a New Zealand holiday experience for visitors and the tourism industry.'
