SAS to link Bristol to Stockholm next year
18 December 2007
Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) has confirmed that it will reinstate its popular summer service linking Bristol to Stockholm in 2008.
The flight will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, between Bristol international airport and Stockholm Arlanda.
Lars-Ove Filipson, SAS general manager for the UK and Ireland, said: 'Demand for SAS' Bristol to Stockholm service during summer 2007 was very strong amongst business and leisure travellers alike.
'SAS enjoyed excellent cabin factors for a new route and sold on average more than 80% of the seats available on every flight.'
Another service provided by SAS next year will connect the south-west to the Norwegian capital of Oslo, with flights set to launch in April 2008.
Tony Hallwood, Bristol's aviation development director, said that both routes will be 'ideal for short breaks, weekends and longer stays in Scandinavia'.
