Air Malta enjoying 'remarkable results' across Europe
19 December 2007
Air Malta has celebrated the 'remarkable results' of its recent promotional work across Europe.
The carrier said that its advertising campaigns in the UK, France, Italy and Germany had been particularly successful.
In the four months from August to November this year, Air Malta saw its passenger numbers on UK routes increase by an average of 8% every month in comparison to 2006.
The airline's French market grew at a year-on-year rate of 13% over the past three months, while services to and from Germany saw passengers increase by 10% over the last five months.
In November 2007 alone, sales on Air Malta's scheduled network increased by 11% compared to the same month in 2006.
Bookings for December have already surpassed the traffic level recorded last year and an increase of 14% is expected to occur this month.
Dr Brock Friesen, Air Malta's chief commercial officer, said that these positive results can be attributed to the airline's advertising campaigns across the continent.
'Our integrated marketing communications campaigns have focused on the short break market segment and the 'extension' of the traditional summer season to the off-peak shoulder months with an increased emphasis on individual traffic,' Dr Friesen added.
Air Malta offers flights from a number of UK airports, including Bristol, Birmingham, Newcastle and Manchester, as well as London's major air hubs.
