Singapore Airlines doubles Zurich services
27 December 2007
Singapore Airlines is doubling the frequency of its services to Switzerland's largest city, Zurich.
The carrier announced today that flights to Zurich will depart from the city-state ten times a week from 4 March, and then 14 times as of 31 March.
Commenting on the expansion of the popular route, Singapore Airlines issued a press release saying that the change reflects Zurich's growing status as an international business and leisure hub.
'The increased frequency will enable the airline to cater to the strong demand for business and leisure travel between Singapore and Zurich, including traffic to destinations beyond each city,' added Huang Cheng Eng, the airline's executive vice-president.
As with the existing flights, all services running between Singapore and Zurich will utilise the airline's newly purchased Boeing 777-300ER fleet.
Switzerland's national carrier, Swiss International Airlines, this month also doubled the frequency of its service linking Zurich to the Indian capital Delhi, raising its number of weekly flights to 14.
