January 'ideal time' to visit US

British holidaymakers are being urged to consider travelling to the US this January in order to take advantage of the weak dollar.
Though the ailing currency has staged a small recovery in recent weeks, the dollar nonetheless remains historically undervalued and so British pounds are able to go a lot further than in recent years.
Couple the favourable exchange rate with the ritualistic January sales and Stansted Airport says next month is an absolutely ideal time to jump across the Atlantic and snap up some bargains.
A spokesperson for the airport said: 'January is a great time to visit the US - especially if you're looking to pick up a bargain in the post-Christmas sales.
'With Stansted providing direct links to four of the most popular cities (New York, Washington, Las Vegas and Los Angeles) and access to virtually unlimited connections across the States, visiting the US couldn't be easier at any time of the year.'
On November 7th the US dollar fell to its lowest level against sterling in 26 years, with one pound fetching no less than $2.10.
