Bmi to double Moscow flights
03 January 2008

British airline bmi has announced that it will double the frequency of its services between London Heathrow and Moscow Domodedovo this year.

From 30 March, the carrier will offer two flights a day between London and Moscow, following the success of the existing daily connection.

The current service, launched in October 2006, marked bmi's first foray into the mid-haul market.

Managing director Peter Spencer said: 'In launching the summer 2008 timetable we are pleased to be adding an extra flight to Moscow from Heathrow.

'Since launching the route less than 18 months ago we have experienced encouraging growth and we now feel that by introducing an extra service we can provide an even more attractive schedule, thus widening its appeal to both point to point and connecting traffic at Heathrow.'

Travellers within the UK will also be offered more bmi services from Heathrow this summer, with a new evening service to Manchester being launched.

Bmi is the second largest operator out of Heathrow airport, behind British Airways.
