Scotland invites couples on romantic getaways
10 January 2008

Scotland's tourism agency has promoted the country as an ideal location for couples looking for a romantic break.

According to VisitScotland, the country is a 'naturally romantic' location owing to its history, scenery, fresh seafood and luxury accommodation.

Relationship adviser and regular visitor to Scotland Denise Robertson said: 'It is important to take time out of your daily routine to celebrate your relationship and spend quality time with your partner.

'Taking a short break away to a beautifully scenic location such as Scotland is an ideal way to relax and enjoy some time together.'

VisitScotland offers tips on a number of romantic locations for couples, such as the Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond, the UK's largest freshwater loch that was immortalised in poetry by Robert Burns.

Also recommended was the Glen Affric Forest and Coral Beach on the north-west tip of the Dunvegan peninsula in the Inner Hebrides.
