Singapore Airlines to launch new flights to Sydney
10 January 2008

Singapore Airlines has confirmed that it is to boost the air travel network between south-east Asia and Australasia this year, with new flights to Sydney.

The carrier will expand capacity on the Singapore-Sydney route with the progressive introduction of a fourth daily service from April.

This development will make Singapore Airlines the first carrier to operate 28 weekly flights on this connection.

New daily services, combined with the recent launch of the Airbus A380 on this route, are set to boost capacity by a third, with a total of 1,500 seats a day to be available for sale.

Singapore Airlines' executive vice-president for marketing and regions, Huang Cheng Eng, said: 'We have been especially pleased with the increased demand for our Sydney services. Sydney remains one of the most popular cities on our network.

'This frequency increase on this route will help meet the demands of travellers from around the world to reach this truly international city, as well as to help our Australian customers expand their travel options.'
