'Canada dome' to open in Canary Wharf
18 January 2008
The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) is launching a campaign to promote the North American country in the UK, which will be led by a 'Canada dome' in London, according to reports.
Opening on 21 January, the dome will highlight the experiences available in seven of Canada's provinces.
Visitors to the dome will also have the opportunity to win a 13-day trip to the country, Travelmole reports.
A statement from the CTC revealed that the campaign, which it described as 'experiential', will also use Bluetooth technology to transmit details of the dome and the competition to mobile phone users.
'It's all part of a new campaign from the Canadian Tourism Commission and its industry partners that embraces sensory overload in order to bring UK consumers a very seductive sample of the sights, sounds and tastes that are making Canada the surprise destination for 2008,' the CTC added.
London residents and visitors will also notice an advertising drive on the Underground and in the Metro and Guardian newspapers.
