Oneworld looks forward to new destinations
20 February 2008

The oneworld airline alliance has looked forward to new destinations that three of its members will serve this year.

Punta del Este will become the second Uruguayan destination in oneworld's network when LAN serves the coastal resort direct from its hub in Santiago, Chile.

This service will run on a twice-weekly basis throughout the southern hemisphere's summer season alongside LAN's daily route between Santiago and Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay.

Another forthcoming change will see American Eagle flying non-stop from Dallas Fort Worth to Tampico, which will be the 15th Mexican destination on the oneworld map.

Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, will rejoin the oneworld alliance network from April, with Royal Jordanian flying there from Amman this April.

In other developments to be pursued by oneworld carriers this year, Cathay Pacific will begin flying to Chennai, India from 1 June and Dragonair will serve Bangalore from 1 May.

UK travellers will be able to access all-business class flights between London City and New York next year, to be provided by British Airways, while Iberia will connect Madrid to Dubrovnik, Croatia from 7 June.
