BridgeClimb Sydney wins tourism award
29 February 2008
Australian company BridgeClimb Sydney was among the winners at a recent awards show for the travel industry.
The Qantas Australian Tourism Awards named the famous excursion the best major tourist attraction in the country.
Science and technology centre Questacon in Canberra and the Clipsal 500 V8 Supercar race in Adelaide were also recognised at the event, the Australian Associated Press reports.
Geoff Buckley, managing director of Tourism Australia, said: 'Australia has some of the world's best tourism experiences and through Tourism Australia's activities in 23 markets across the globe, including Australia, we aim to take this message to the world.
'In promoting our country we are selling dreams about what an Australian holiday can offer, but the challenge is to make sure that we live up to the dreams and expectations of our international and domestic customers.'
Other winners at the event included Montague Island Tours of New South Wales, which took the eco-tourism award.
The indigenous tourism accolade went to the Muru Mittigar centre, also in New South Wales.
