Emirates to launch new flights to China
06 March 2008
Emirates has announced that it is to further expand its network to the east with new flights to Guangzhou, China.
The city in south-eastern China will be incorporated into the Emirates portfolio from 1 July this year.
It will be the fourth Chinese destination served by the Dubai-based airline, after Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong.
The non-stop flights, which will act as a connection to China for travellers from Europe, will be available four times a week.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of Emirates, said that Guangzhou will become an important part of the airline's network as it continues to expand, the China Hospitality News service reports.
'Guangzhou is a vital link in our strategic plans for both China and the Asia-Pacific region,' he said.
'Guangzhou serves as an air travel hub for Guangdong and the South China provinces which significantly expands our span and reach.'
