10 March 2008
The city of Dublin will be welcoming music fans from all over Britain and Europe in May as it hosts the Heineken Green Energy Festival.
This event will take place for the eighth time this year on the May bank holiday weekend, from 3 May to 5 May.
A number of venues throughout the city will host events for the festival, including Dublin Castle, the Olympia Theatre and the Temple Bar Music Centre.
Music fans will be able to enjoy a wide-ranging line-up of Irish and international acts performing in the capital, as well as a street carnival, music seminars and the well-known band challenge.
The highlight for many visitors will be a show by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, in support of their recently released new album, on 3 May.
Soulwax, 2ManyDJs and guests will perform on 4 May before The Kooks have a hand in closing the festival on 5 May.
