Emirates to fly to LA
13 March 2008
Emirates has announced that it is to further expand its network this year with new flights to Los Angeles.
The west coast city will be the airline's third gateway in the US when it begins flying there from Dubai on 1 September.
Operating on a daily basis, the service will be the first non-stop connection between Dubai and Los Angeles.
Customers will be able to access 266 seats in a three-class configuration on the flights.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, chairman and chief executive of Emirates, said that the route launch represents the airline's commitment to the American market.
'We have evaluated the US for expansion opportunities and have carefully examined our existing services in Houston and New York, both of which have been very successful,' he added.
'We look forward to recreating this success by connecting Los Angeles to Dubai and beyond.'
