New exhibit to open in Kansas next month
08 April 2008
Holidaymakers in Kansas from 31 May who have an interest in science can visit a new exhibition at the Underground Salt Museum.
The new 'fluid inclusion' display will feature the scientific research and findings of scientists who reawakened bacteria from spores inside a salt crystal that was 250m years old.
According to their research, the cells from which the spores formed were alive before the time of the dinosaurs.
Visitors who think so much science may be over their head will be happy to hear that the exhibition goes into detail to highlight the significance of the find.
An event more likely to appeal to fun-loving holidaymakers in Kansas will be held in the Salt Museum on 7 June.
The Murder in the Mine mystery dinner theatre evening will include a meal, a theatre show and a gallery tour of the museum.
