Magazine rounds up top 10 'paradise spots'
21 April 2008
Online magazine AskMen.com has compiled a list of the top ten 'paradise' locations around the world that seem to have remained untouched by civilisation.
The South Atlantic island group of Tristan da Cunha took top spot in the list owing to its remote location and the fact that several of its isles are uninhabited.
England's very own Cotswolds was in second place, with the region's landscapes, lakes and winding roads credited for creating a sense of isolation and quietude, Reuters reports.
The AskMen.com top five was completed by Patagonia in southern Chile a region that boasts forests, islands, fjords and glaciers Kauai in Hawaii and Kiribati in Micronesia.
Canada's Algonquin Park is three hours' drive away from Toronto and its natural appeal secured it sixth place in the 'paradise list', followed by South Africa's Thornybush game reserve.
The Alpine location of Morzine in France was eighth in the list, with Brazil's Fernando de Noronha archipelago and Isla Vieques in Puerto Rico rounding off the top ten.
