Travellers offered speedy passage through Dubai airport
14 May 2008
People flying with Emirates will soon be able to enjoy faster movement through Dubai airport.
The airline announced the introduction of an electronic boarding pass that passengers can print out at home.
This will enable people carrying only hand luggage to bypass check-in and go straight to passport control and security to reach their boarding gate.
People with baggage to check in will be able to use the boarding pass in conjunction with quick bag-drop counters.
Dale Griffith of Emirates Airport Services claimed the airline is one of the first carriers in the Middle East to launch an online boarding pass facility.
He added: 'The objective of this initiative is to provide customers with more control of their trip, more flexibility and value-added services that enhance the journey.'
Emirates is set to launch flights between Dubai and Guangzhou in China on 1 July, connecting the Chinese city to its network of more than 100 international destinations.
