Air France gets musical
28 May 2008

Air France is set to launch in-flight technology which allows passengers to listen to constantly upgraded music, according to reports.

Passengers can enjoy a wide variety of music styles with over 3,000 songs available from a selection of 200 albums thanks to the airline's partnership with consumer electronics retailer Fnac.

Air France's culturally diverse clientele are reflected in the music on offer with everything from classical and rock to world music accessible to passengers.

Patrick Roux, vice president of marketing for Air France, said: 'On our long-haul network, two-thirds of Air France passengers are non-French. The broad range of Fnac's music picks reflects the entire spectrum of musical tastes.'

Each month the music is renewed with Fnac favourites MGMT and Vampire Weekend likely to be on display alongside classic artists like the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix.

'Air France is the first airline to use the professional skills and competence of a leading company in the distribution of cultural and leisure products in preparing its musical programme,' added Mr Roux.

Air France has a total of 23, 000 seats equipped with in-seat video screens.
