Central Park to rock to Summer Stage sounds

New York City will once again host the SummerStage festival this summer, providing locals and visitors alike with plenty of free entertainment.
The event, which is based in Central Park, kicked off on 13 June and will continue until 17 August.
There will be plenty of shows and concerts to keep visitors entertained, including a performance by former Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler on 23 July, followed by a show by the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company.
People with an interest in Brazil should visit Central Park on 10 August, when national star Maria Rita will perform before a screening of a documentary chronicling the life of music maestro Antonio Carlos Jobim.
Jill Scott and Wyclef Jean will then do their bit to entertain the crowds on 12 August.
SummerStage 2008 will be brought to a close on 18 August, with a night of shows by Brooklyn-based soul and funk bands including Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings and the Menahan Street Band.
